Acupuncture FAQ’s

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very inappreciable, so much so most people feel nothing more than a tiny tap as they are inserted. However, when the needles are in, in some cases it can feel slightly sore but this effect is temporary. Some build up anxiety about acupuncture, so we ensure everyone is relaxed beforehand, during, and after.

Does acupuncture really work?

National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies have shown that acupuncture is an effective treatment alone or in combination with conventional therapies. The immediate relaxing endorphins released into the body are ideal for nervous patients, including dental patients.

How does acupuncture work?

Inserting acupuncture needles provides a minor trauma to the skin, which stimulates the production of pain-relieving chemicals locally at the trauma. It also releases these natural chemicals throughout the body. These biochemical changes stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional wellness.
