Orthotics aka Gate Correctors

Your feet are the foundation of your entire body and do an incredible amount of work each day!

Orthotics is the design and application of orthoses. Orthotics slip inside your shoes to correct biomechanical foot issues such as problems with how you walk, stand, or run.

How do orthotics work?

The basic function of an orthotic is to put the foot into a better position, which not only alleviates discomfort but trains your foot, ankle, and knee joints to perform correctly, which, over time corrects your gate.

Supporting very high arches.

If you think about the majority of shoes, the innersole usually has a slight curvature or is completely flat. For people with very high arches, insufficient support can cause the foot to roll, cause stress to muscles in the feet, ankle, and leg, and lead to a number of conditions, such as shin splints, knee pain, and plantar fasciitis.

Custom orthotics.

At Horsemonden Physio we prescribe custom orthotics. Custom means we use casts and impressions, to perfectly fit your foot. Custom orthotics will increase effectiveness and decrease the pain experienced in everyday life.
